Per -Egil Ramsøy was born in Fredrikstad in 1960.
Residing in San Fernando, Gran Canaria.
Started with his first paintings in 1982.
Since 1999 he has worked together with designer Øyvind Gundersen.
In 2003 he participated in classes with the Norwegian artist Truls Dahl at Anfi del Mar. For 3 years he was a student of painter Eva Traumann, San Fernando.
In 2008, he began to work in ceramics with the guidance of ceramist Hilde Knutsen, to learn about ceramics, making plaster molds and different burning techniques.

Burning techniques involves wood/pit burning, raku and luster. He is particularly interested in Japanese rakubrenning, which means that the work is fired rapidly up to about 900 degrees, then adding them red-glowing into sawdust. This causes the glazes to reduce and obtain completely different colors and the ceramics cracklel.

Being a queer artist meens for me to have a channel where I get challenges and knowledge about my own attitude to gender and gender roles. Challenges and knowledge about my attitude to art and artistic expression. Creative inspiration from others within the environment, both in terms of artistic expression and personal expression. I feel that I am challenged to develop myself both technically, artistically and personally, and that is perhaps the most important part, and that you feel that there are few or none limits to what you want to present and express, and thus you are free!
